The LCA Conference moved to the picturesque setting of Wyboston Lakes in Bedfordshire for the 2018 Conference. The location is outstanding, the main room having 4 screens and ample microphone facilities, and with the restaurant, bar and bedrooms all downstairs you never need to venture outside! In fact the main room has 2 stage screens and 2 ceiling mounted TV screens and with 8 expert speakers and 11 suppliers exhibiting their products the 70 lawn care specialist delegates were kept really busy. Everyone came away with some knew found knowledge be it technical or commercial and we all made good use of networking making new friends along the way. The LCA are committed to ‘best practice’ (for the customer, the employee and the environment’ and now will be working even closer with the Amenity Forum and BASIS supporting their Lawn Assured programme. Among just some of the highlights, Health and Safety will play a greater role in the LCA moving forward and we are updated on how nematoids can combat chafers in the absence of chemical solutions. Our thanks go to all the speakers and exhibitors that made the event a complete success.
